Spot A Bot

Here’s a new game for the whole family to play, especially in the run up to the 2020 election.

Have you ever noticed that you have that one Uncle that keeps posting memes on Facebook that turn out to be debunked? Ever wonder where they come from?

Well, when you play SPOT A BOT with us, you will wonder no more!

Playing the game is simple! All you need to do is click on the profile of the account that originally posted the meme and then check for the following things:

1. Does the profile appear to have either no friends at all or is very close to the maximum of 5000?
2. Do all the posts appear to follow a particular theme (i.e. criticising a particular political or social movement)?
3. Does the profile appear to post with a frequency of between 8 to 10 minutes between each post?
4. Do you find that Likes and Shares are allowed on all the posts, but the comments have been disabled?
5. Does it appear that this account, though it might claim to be a person, doesn’t contain any personal photos and was perhaps only created within the last 6 to 12 months?

If you can say YES to at least THREE of these conditions, you have successfully SPOTTED A BOT!!

And if you have found a profile that conforms to all 5, you are the winner!
